El Sherif R, Granikov V, Hong QN, Bush P & Pluye P (2018). Research Literacy Workshop Participant Booklet. McGill Family Medicine Studies Online, 13: e01
Research literacy is defined as being sufficiently familiar with scientific ethics and methods to understand basic research concepts (knowledge), communicate with researchers and research participants (behavior), and respect research ethics (attitude). Definition adapted from Nebeker and López-Arenas (2016).
This booklet is to be used in conjunction with the Quebec SPOR SUPPORT Unit’s Research Literacy Workshop, designed for patients, managers, clinicians and anyone interested in research and collaboration with researchers (hereafter research stakeholders). The booklet and the workshop were developed by the Quebec SPOR SUPPORT Unit. The goal is to allow research stakeholders to find, understand and use a common language.
